Jaybie Academy offers recreational sports and academics programs to children & youth in the Washington Heights, Inwood and the Bronx.

Washington Heights Jaybie’s Sports Academy is a community-based 501(c) (3) non profit organization founded 2004.

Jaybie Academy offers recreational sports and academics programs to children and youth in the Washington Heights, Inwood and the Bronx. All activities and programs are developed to provide positive alternatives to unproductive or illicit behaviors or actions that may
be a temptation in these communities.

Our Mission Statement

To provide recreational and competitive sports activities, for youth, as well as building character development and academics skills.

Jaybie participants will strengthen their minds and bodies; develop skills for leadership, by
creating opportunities for socialization and friendships in a safe, fun environment. Youth
participating in the academy become part of a team. Staff and volunteers begin engaging the participants in developing the tools deemed necessary to make choices about their educations, character development and future career goals.

To encourage involvement in all types of recreational sports as a supplement to the academic experience.
To ensure diverse offerings appropriate to the needs of the youths.
To instill principles of leadership, sportsmanship and teamwork.
To promote patterns of behavior that lead to a healthy lifestyle.
To encourage advanced levels of participation through high school & college.
To provide employment opportunities
To maintain positive interaction with school administrators, community based organizations to assist in providing a safe –play and learn environment for youths.

COME JOIN US, AWAKEN YOUR PLAYING BASKETBALL

Jaybie has developed collaborations and liaisons, with several local and state colleges. The youths will attend campus tours and games; meet with college advisors and in order to expose to real college experiences.
